We have an exciting opportunity available for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator.
The successful candidate will be responsible to prepare Bills of Quantities for tender enquiries and contracts, re- Measure on-site work and agrees quantities with Contractors and recommend and certify payments for work done by on-site contractors ( on request). The project is for design and construction of GSM/CDMA infrastructure. The works will include Civils, RF, earthworks, road build and structural construction. Project requirement is to measure and price the contract works for all disciplines from design drawings and site survey documents.
The purpose is to obtain a budget forecast for cost control.
During the construction phase the works progress must be measured for adjustments to forecast and for validation of certificates.
A final closure measurement will be required at completion of the works.

Traditional quantity surveying functions:
• Preparing feasibility studies and budgets for proposed projects
• Preparing Bills of Quantities and other tender documentation to acquire fair and equitable tenders for projects
• Involvement in negotiating building contracts
• Involvement with drafting contract documents
• Monitoring costs and reporting to Project team during the design and construction of projects
• Determining final costs of projects in conjunction with the Project and finance team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepares, administers enquiry documentation to enable sub-contractors to tender for providing products and services for a particular project in association with the solutions architect.
• Adjudicates enquiry documentation and liaises with the respective sub-contractor/project manger regarding any outstanding documentation or issues surrounding documentation
• Makes recommendations to the project team regarding the awarding of tenders to sub-contractors on new projects
• Compiles the project budget and cost plans for sub-contracts and performs cost control in association with the relevant Project managers in terms of budget spent on a project
• Monitors the expenditure against the budget and takes the appropriate actions when necessary
• Updates budgets and cost plans as and when required and informs the necessary stakeholders
• Prepares and submits budget and expenditure reports to the Project team and Program manager
• Administers sub-contractor documentation and verifies deliverables received from sub-contractor, prepares and issues payment certificates to sub contractors (where requested to do so by the Regional/ Project manager)
• Negotiates any extra issues (to a contract) with the sub-contractor, motivates the extra issues, obtains agreement and makes the necessary amendments to the relevant documentation and informs the stakeholders.
• Administers site quantities (measures site quantities, claims and variations) and updates the necessary documentation. (where requested to do so by the Regional/ Project manager)
• Administers final accounts, verifies project deliverables and finalizes agreements with project team. (where requested to do so by the Regional/ Project manager).
