Reporting to the IT Team Manager, the database Adminstrator will primarily be responsible for the supporting, maintaining, monitoring and enhancing of the development environments and production system database, ensuring that services operate efficiently.
Responsibilities include (amongst others):
Responsible for the performance monitoring and tuning of all batch and on-line processes in development as well as production
Provide recommendations for any databse or process enhancements.
Work closely with development teams on the architectural design and implementation of scalable database solutions

Essential Skills(amongst others):
At least 5 years relevant experience using a Relational database
Experience with Oracle 9i or 10G
Solid experience in SQL and development/maintenance PL-SQL procedures
Well versed with the Oracle utility toolset i.e database creation, backup and recovery, installations etc.
Unix experience
Good understanding of Data Warehouse design principles is an advantage

This is a large team responsible for delivering of projects, enhancements and the maintaining of systems across multiple clients and systems
