Job description
Who Owns Whom is a business information vendor conducting micro research into 300 key South African business sectors and is looking for additional part time researchers to work on this project.
Position Profile
Who Owns Whom seeks to expand its team of Contract Researchers to conduct research into South African business sectors.
- This is a contract based position where researchers are required to have their own home office and are compensated on the completion of a report. The research follows a structured format to conduct research into the profiles of sectors which includes conducting interviews with companies in the industry.
Company Description
Who Owns Whom is a business information researcher and publisher which was started 30 years ago with the publication of the 1st edition of the business directory of the same name. In addition to book publishing Who Owns Whom engages in specialist business research which focuses on South African industry research, ownership and group structures, takeover and merger activity and investment into the rest Africa.
Requirements
Position requirements
The successful candidate will be required to;
- meet twice a year at our Johannesburg office to attend briefing and national training functions (out of town researchers will be paid travel expenses)
- provide their own transport, computer and peripherals, internet access and telephone/fax
- follow established research rules and guidelines
- present themselves and the company in a light which promotes the company's brand image, products and vision
Advantageous
Previous experience in business journalism or research
Personal Skills/Attributes
Person Profile
Applicants should;
- have at least five years relevant work experience
- have a good working knowledge of SA business
- be a good communicator
- have excellent written and internet skills
- the ability to assimilate a lot of information and present that information efficiently in a defined report format
