Job description
The Finance department ensures that all the financial functions appropriate to the effective running of the organisation are executed according to our internal control systems, and that they comply with generally accepted accounting practices. This enables us to deliver accurate representation of the company's finances to management to assist them in making the appropriate strategic decisions.

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical candidate to join our Finance department as Creditors Clerk. Reporting to the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for making timeous payment to RamsayMedia suppliers. We're looking for a well-rounded team player who will ideally be able to handle the bank reconciliation process, various ad hoc account analyses as well as other ad hoc duties within the Finance team.

The responsibilities of the role will include:
• Handling the full creditors function including processing and payment of monthly creditors to ensure timeous settlement of accounts
• Receiving invoices and obtaining the necessary authorisation to make payment
• Reconciling all invoices on the accounting system against the supplier statement
• Identifying missing invoices and following up before completing an additional reconciliation
• Making ad hoc payments throughout the month where necessary
• Chasing outstanding statements and invoices, including sorting out queries
• Preparing payments via EFT and sending remittance advices to suppliers
• Filing invoices, recons and statements as appropriate
• Reconciling various bank statements with our accounting records
• Analysing various accounts as necessary
• Ensuring all deadlines are met

Requirements
We are looking for someone who meets the following requirements:
• Suitable academic qualification
• Two to three years minimum experience in a similar role handling the full creditors function
• Solid experience of handling reconciliations coupled with very good analytical skills is essential
• Prior bank reconciliation experience will be highly advantageous
• Computer literate (MS Office Suite) and proven experience on accounting packages
• Excellent numeracy skills coupled with high attention to detail
• The ability to manage repetitive tasks with high degrees of accuracy
• The ability to problem solve and work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
• Conscientious and able to work with limited supervision
• Well spoken with an ability to communicate verbally and in writing
• Honesty and reliability is essential
• The ability to function both independently as well as part of a team
• The ability to function effectively in an open plan environment
