Job description
An Account Manager is required to provide support in the Consulting and Marketing Services division, on Engen sponsorships (Cycling, Motorsport and Soccer) and any other events as required, including strategy development, implementation, leverage planning and activation, event management reporting and general client liaison, in order to drive sponsorship value and team profitability. The Account Manager will provide a comprehensive account management function to the division. This will entail being the custodian of all of the branding, event planning, activation, budgeting and reporting and all correspondence relating to proposals which are submitted to the Sponsorships and Events team.

Roles and Accountabilities:
• Development of sponsorship leveraging plan and co-ordination of event activation on these events
• Co-ordination and management of tactical plans to ensure leveraging of these sponsorships
• Compiling event briefs in respect of these sponsorship events
• Support the Account Director with new concept and idea generation in sponsorship leveraging planning
• Client liaison
• Financial management - project profitability management and budget management.
• Preparation of internal communication documents such as status reports, contact reports, event reports and agendas
• Management of third party suppliers in compliance with Octagon financial procedures and BEE stipulations
• Management of any staff reporting to the incumbent and event support staff
• Provide on-going administrative support on all aspects of the accounts including:
- Co-ordinating internal and client status meetings
- Updating and distributing Status Reports
- Writing and distributing Contact Reports.

Requirements
• At least three years experience in Project Management with specific leaning towards management of events
• Specific events experience in would be advantageous
• An understanding of the sports industry and the leveraging of sponsorship
• Proven ability to manage a number of large projects within a challenging environment
• Self motivated and driven
• Accuracy and attention to detail in execution is crucial.
• Reliability in meeting set deadlines and setting priorities
• Strong administration skills
• Proven experience in interaction with senior management and ability to handle pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be a team player.
• Must be able to travel according to project needs.
• Must have own transport and a code 8 license.
• Must be able to work after hours and on weekends as and when projects require
• Must be an independent thinker that takes initiative

Advantageous
• Marketing Agency work experience will be advantageous
