Job description
We are currently situated in Bedfordview but we are moving to Corlette Drive in the North in March 2012.
The ideal Account Director is a highly sales driven, passionate, collaborative, outgoing, creative oriented leader. A seasoned candidate will demonstrate the following skills and take on the below responsibilities.
Reporting to the Business Unit Director you will have the opportunity to develop your own team and clients.
Main Responsibilities:
Client Management:
• Be responsible for all day-to-day communication with their clients including the taking of briefs, discussing strategy and future opportunities and general client communication
• Managing all aspects of client's Advertising, Marketing and events needs, from planning to delivery and post event or campaign wrap up.
• Ability to attend client meetings, take a brief and develop strategy and creative solutions
• Develop lasting relationships with senior client personnel and using PenQuin senior management as required to cement relationships at a senior level
• Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
• Compile competitor review
• Strategy development.
• Develop New Business opportunities at current clients
Finance and Budget Control:
• Managing project budgets
• Driving team to reach annual sales target
Project Management
• Quality control - ensuring the account team adhere to internal systems and guidelines, and a high quality of communication is maintained internally and externally
• Managing projects including concept, turn key delivery and execution
• Ability to research new concepts and prepare presentations, project justification and business cases
• Delivering sales presentations to high-level executives
• Ability to Train team members through both formal and informal training programs, mentoring etc.
• Mentors those with less experience through informal channels.
• Seeks and participates in development opportunities above and beyond required training.
• Ensure team members are motivated
Team and People Management
• Leading and training other members of the account team, leading the project management activity
• Mentoring junior staff through informal channels
• Conducting Performance Reviews of team members

Requirements
Account Director Profile:
• Trusted Advisor - Primary contact for high level clients with the relevant Business Unit Director
• Responsible for building strong relationship with client - main point of contact
• Vast Experience in delivering presentations to high level clients with relevant BUD and Creative Team
• Strategically involved with clients marketing and advertising plans
• Experience in managing marketing and advertising projects including concept, turn key delivery and execution.
• Liaising with, and acting as the link between, Projects team and the Clients by maintaining regular contact with both, ensuring that communication flows effectively;
• Being familiar with the nature of clients' products, business culture and competition and understanding the possibility of changes to these;
• Constantly looking for up and cross selling of new opportunities
• Experience in developing long term client advertising and marketing strategies.
• Experience in developing creative communication and Brand strategies.
• Strong understanding of media, from strategies, planning and implementation position.
• Applying knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients
• Driving team to reach annual sales target
• Facilitating efficient functioning and structure of Project team
• Driving a culture of performance management and following correct procedures
• Ability to Train junior team members through both formal and informal training programs, mentoring etc.
• Ultimately responsible for final delivery on all client requests, events and projects.
Five to eight years marketing and Advertising Agency experience ideally.
Advantageous
• Experience across various marketing and advertising disciplines, e.g. print, events, digital, Radio, TV, activations and sales.
• An understanding and knowledge of latest marketing and advertising trends.
