The company is currently looking for a first-rate PR Account Executive to take on some responsibility across established technology brands; providing insightful client counsel, a good understanding of the technology sector and passion for business writing.

Waggener Edstrom, one of the world's largest independent integrated communications agencies, is looking for driven professionals to join its highly successful and expanding Johannesburg office.

You should consider applying for the position if you have the following experience:
• Excellent track record in PR - in a public relations and/or within the technology industry - providing a communications consulting service to technology clients
• PR management and execution experience, including helping develop plans, client management, launch strategies, product positioning, pitching stories to the media, negotiation
• Experience with pan-regional clients and accounts preferred
• Experience working under client and influencer deadlines
• Digitally-savvy and well-versed with social media
• Knowledge of high tech industry, key players and strong media relations skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of initiative and attention to detail

Requirements
Education
• Bachelors degree or above in communications, journalism or related field preferred

Experience Preferred
• Solid experience in PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within the high tech industry
• Demonstrated understanding of what the media values
• Established business press editor and analyst relationships
• Experience in managing a client relationship
• Worked within a team environment
• Managed multiple projects/events simultaneously
• Worked under editorial deadlines
• Has written and developed press materials
• Developed and executed a PR plan
• Conducted press meetings
• Proficiency using computer and general business applications (Microsoft Office preferred)
