Our client is looking for an individual of outstanding caliber to join their dynamic team. This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated individual who will be involved in setting the scene for the business through strategy which involves (but may not be limited to) positioning, promotions that engage the senses, shifting perceptions, creating beliefs, communicating value and establishing connections in target segments.
This entails creating and leading a high performance team to determine the strategic marketing direction and communication for the company.
The role will involve managing a team. This role will require a combination of technical expertise, innovative thinking and excellent communication skills.
This is a demanding and rewarding role that will require the candidate to be innovative in order to own processes, drive business solutions and play an active role in leading and managing the Marketing Team.
Responsibilities:
• Set strategic marketing plans to set the direction and to help achieve the mission of the business
• To position and differentiate the brand in the mind of the customers
• Identify needs, gaps and opportunities for the business and make proposals to implement these
• Keep abreast of the competitor landscape
• Provide critical support to reinforce sales efforts that lead to profits
• Setting goals and objectives, development of staff, monitoring efficiency
• Establish and maintain strategic networks and liaising with other departments
• Define and achieve business specific targets for the team
• Responsible for risk management, budget setting and control with Marketing
• Responsible for coaching and mentoring of staff
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines
• The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and a self-motivated team player
• Excellent writing and communication skills for a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
• Effective and efficient problem-solving skills
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across all levels of management
• Develop and maintain a strong business network as reliable source of information
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (preferably with strategic marketing as a major)
• Three to five years' experience developing proposals and presentations
• Excellent command of English grammar, spelling and composition
• Superior oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be highly proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong Project Management Skills
• Five to seven years relevant strategic marketing and communications experience
• Two to three years experience in an Employee Benefits environment will be an advantage
Advantageous
Five to seven years leadership experience (with an established leadership track record) preferably in the Financial Services Industry
