The Natal Witness Printing and Publishing Company invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of National Sales and Marketing Manager based in Pietermaritzburg.
This senior position requires a sales and marketing qualification and at least five years relevant experience at management level. Experience in a newspaper or Media environment, working under pressure and networking with clients is essential. Strong public speaking and presentation skills are vital. Some experience in event management would be a recommendation.
The incumbent will be required to travel to Advertising Agencies and clients in various parts of the country, on a monthly basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for looking after all aspects of National advertising and marketing of the daily and community titles.
These responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• New product launches and promotions
• Forecasting and budgeting
• Formulating and implementing business plans
• Client/agency liaison in collaboration with ADS 24
• Rate negotiations
• People management
• Management of our advertiser CRM program
• Event management
• Branding to ensure consistent and appropriate deployment in the market place
The incumbent will be required to identify appropriate events and community involvements for various titles under his or her control, and ensure that these are professionally managed.
