Purpose of the position
Being responsible for electrical construction and installations within the company

Position Profile
o Complete understanding and implementation of electrical drawings used for installations
o Complete understanding and implementation of electrical installation procedures
o Complete understanding and implementation of electrical installation standards used by the company and according to law
o Thorough knowledge of electrical components used by the company
o Complete understanding and implementation of electrical and installation safety standards
o Complete understanding and implementation of electrical and installation safety standards
o Complete understanding and implementation of the correct equipment for the correct job
o Responsibility for equipment once removed from the stores
o Physical construction and installation of electrical control and MCC cabinets
o Physical pulling in and termination of cables
o Occasional mechanical work such as brackets
o Informing the procurement manager of declining stock levels
o When assigned, be installation sit manager for company projects
o To, as part of a team, conceptualise assigned new projects
o Investigate, understand and using of new equipment on the market should it be required
o Answering f questions pertaining to installation and plans to the best of ones ability
o Occasional training of personnel and clients
o When requested to do so, the liaising the clients about projects etc
o Reaction to call-outs or breakdowns upon request from management
o Flexibility in working hours and times should it be required
o Standby times will be required from time to time depending on the type of projects being done

Working conditions
Although predominantly field orientated, the position would require local and international trips, factory, office, production and outdoor environments

Reporting to
Project Manager, Procurement, Construction Section Manager and Installation Site Manager




Dress Code
Company overalls or jeans with a company T-shirt or company overall too. Company identifying clothing must be worn at all times when on installation sites

Work times
Semi flexible hours with workload and work type being the determining factor. Normally 07:00-16:00
Lunchtime is 1 hour per day normally taken at 12:00-13:00

Mobility
Own transport is of vital importance with only extreme cases being acceptable exceptions

Availability
The company grants an allowance so that availability, within reason, can be assured. When on standby no excuses will be accepted for not being available
