Our client, one of the top, global, mobile phone manufacturers, is looking for a Market Unit Account Manager (Sales) to sell the full portfolio of their products and solutions to the trade and local operator customers.
The Account Manager will be responsible for achieving or exceeding budget expectations and co-ordinating a virtual team consisting of marketing, finance, order management, technical sales support and customer service. He/she will have full ownership of the accounts and leverages of other internal functions to maximise the company, customer and consumer value.

This is also a key position in providing advisory services to the Head of Sales.
The successful incumbent will carry out specialised activities/projects according to general direction and can analyse, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert. Although the Account Manager should be able to work independently with little supervision on solutions that can often be checked and proved, the person in this role will be part of the sales team reporting to the Head of Sales.

Responsibilities:
• Building a value proposition around each product in the local portfolio and ensuring regular sell-through to the end-consumer at a retail level. This requires working in close partnership with all supporting functions within the company.
• Be accountable for identifying winnable, profitable opportunities through a quarterly account management process and normal customer facing sales activity. Coordinating sales strategy and activities with the global customer unit (if applicable).
• Be responsible for annual revenues, handset volumes, market contribution and KPI targets according to an agreed plan. Specific targets are set on a quarterly basis in accordance with business expectations.
• Defining, selling, delivering and supporting solutions to customer's business needs. Managing the resources of a support team to service the needs of the customer including proposal generation, bid pricing with marketing, negotiation framework with senior management, all aspects of problem solving and effective implementation of sell-through programs.
• Responsible for the cross functional production and maintenance of customer based account development plans and business forecasts (including the continuous update of the demand plan through customer interaction), which will serve as a framework for account management going forward.
• Managing customer relationships in a professional manner by keeping good cooperation with customer interfaces, being responsive to their demands and requests as well as competitor and market movements.
• Understanding the customers buying network and updating relationship map. Furthermore, if applicable, the Account Manager will provide input to strategic and organisational changes in the account.
• Ensuring that potential customer issues are resolved in accordance to service levels and that defined customer agreements are fulfilled.
• Ensuring customer understanding of market and technology trends as well as relevant evolving business models (such as m-iBM and the four pillar sales strategy). Also ensuring that company supplied tools are used effectively (including CRM tool & sales methodology, forecast system, intranet and the Microsoft Office suite, amongst others).

Performance of the individual in this role will be measured on:

• Timely account plan completion & submission
• Customer satisfaction
• Quarterly KPI targets

Requirements
• Three-five years successful selling experience in a B2B2C environment, preferably from an FMCG background.
• Proven track record of increasing sales revenues year on year.
• Experience with mobile communications technologies.
• Experience competing against or working for companies in the mobile communications market place.
• Experience in a B2B2C environment where sell-through activity plays an important element in success.
• Experience of leading a virtual team.
• Business planning or financial modelling/business case development.
• Product marketing and/or retail marketing experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Spoken and written fluency in English.
