Blue Sky Publications, the leading publishers of South African media for the expat market, is looking for an online and sports editor to join their production team in Cape Town from 1 August 2010.

Responsibilities include:
• Preparing, writing and editing the sports pages of a weekly tabloid newspaper
• Ensuring a steady flow of sports content to the newspaper's partner websites
• Growing reader interaction through social media, web forums and comments
• Preparing and coordinating regular email newsletters and managing their databases
• Coordinating competitions and assisting with the production of other articles and adverts as required
• Compiling relevant web statistics from Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter etc

Requirements
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (for web)
• Excellent writing and copy editing skills with an eye for a story
• Familiar with website content management systems
• Addicted to news websites, chat rooms, forums and blogs
• Expert social mediator
• Familiar with Google Analytics, Facebook and Twitter statistics and functionalities
• Astonishing knowledge of SA national sports codes, especially rugby
• Experience with online mailing systems (eg Create/Send) and database management
• Must be creative, confident, organised, and show precise attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Must be comfortable working as part of a small team

• London experience and a fun-loving personality get you a bonus point!
