The above-mentioned position is currently available in the Information Technology department at our division/business unit based at our office in Cape Town.

Your technical expertise in terms of qualifications and significant experience is essential to perform well in this position as the Architecture team uses a variety of computer systems and networks in applications that make full use of the capabilities of these systems.

The Incumbent will be responsible for:

Java application development
Proof of concept and pilot systems
Establishing of diagnostic systems
Evaluation of new technologies
Assistance and mentoring of programmers

The applicant should meet these requirements

Matric plus three years study in the field of Applied Mathematics, Computer
Science or Electronic Engineering with an emphasis on distributed computing e.g. BSc degree plus a relevant Sun Microsystems Certification (Sun certified Java Programmer or Developer)
Three years Software Development experience in a distributed computing environment using Java, C and/or C++
