The Costing Clerk is responsible for ensuring all projects are accurately costed in order for the company to remain profitable. This includes keeping track of all project costs in relation to their original budgets, as well as general administration of the Financial Services department.
Key Performance Areas:
Calculating project costings based on input received from Directors / Sector Coordinators and Key Account Managers.
Change Control costings
Arranging quotes from external suppliers
Updating and maintaining the outsourced database
Project recons and analysis
Early warning of project overruns
Analysis of monthly billings vs. accepted
Analysis of costings vs. accepted
Analysis of non-accepted projects
Checking that all the correct information appears on the billing instructions
Issues Project numbers for accepted projects
Adding project numbers to the workflow as well as timesheet systems
Assisting supervisor with maintaining the client prospect system
Attending meetings
Requirements
A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent is essential
Minimum onne year's working experience in a financial role
Additional requirements:
Computer literate - Microsoft Excel/Word/Powerpoint
Good interpersonal skills
Above average numerical ability
Above average analytical skills
Good interpretation skills
Good administrative skills
Fast learner
