Through-the-Line agency, Global Mouse, seeks to employ a meticulous Finishing Artist (Suitable Affirmative Action Applicant would be looked at first).
Overseeing the finishing and all other aspects of outgoing work within the agency to ensure that all material going for print not only adheres to agency standards but supplier requirements as well. A solid understanding of the whole printing process, all the way from design to pre-press to press and finishing. Reproduction (Bureau) knowledge and experience of at least two years in this environment is a must have.

Requirements
• Affirmative action application a plus
• Matric and his/her own transport
• At least two years experience in the relevant industry
• Keen interest in graphic design and visual imagery
• Aptitude for working with computers and graphic design technology
• Patience
• Ability to work as part of a team, yet show initiative and self-motivation
• Ability to work under pressure
• Skilled in the following programs:
- Indesign CS
- Photoshop CS
- Acrobat
- Illustrator
- Other (smaller less used apps like Freehand etc) will be a benefit.
• Must have sound knowledge of PDF creation, pre-flighting and editing

Successful candidate will be required to:
• Apply 'Finishing' to all jobs before it goes out to suppliers
• Reproduction of all jobs in order to send all jobs to print
• Ensure that all repro processes are followed, from artwork build/finished art to pre-press ready files, by all relevant designers and DTP operators in the studio, prior to being disked and passed onto the production department to hand over to the relevant supplier
• Ensure that all mock-ups are correct before the artwork is handed over
• You will work as a key link between the creative studio and the production team.
